Within IBG Netherlands, Orchard and Fasten specialise in turnkey solutions, private label and packaging in the Beauty and Home Care industry. Together we are concept builders with global opportunities for well-known retailers and brands from your favorite shopping street. There is a good chance that one of our products is already in your home! 

Your role as Product Engineer? 

Bring ideas to life and shape beautiful, functional packaging solutions! In this role, you play an active part in the conceptual phase by providing valuable technical input and insights to the Product Development team. Once a concept is selected and ready for further development, you and the Product Engineering team take the lead, transforming creative ideas into tangible, manufacturable products. Your main focus is on translating concepts into real, high-quality products ready for production. 

You work closely together with colleagues from Project Management, Sales, Product Design and Quality, as well as our teams in IBG China, ensuring seamless collaboration throughout the entire product development process. 

You will: 

• Take ownership of the technical development of new packaging products, transforming approved concepts into scalable, manufacturable designs; 

• Validate and test prototypes, ensuring quality, functionality, and compliance with all relevant standards; 

• Conduct risk analyses and propose design improvements that boost performance and efficiency; 

• Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and suppliers to ensure a smooth, timely project execution • Champion product and process quality by implementing continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen and 6 Sigma; 

• Drive innovation by researching materials, sustainability trends, and new production techniques to keep IBG ahead of the curve

• As of March 1, 2025, we’re moving to our brand-new office, just a 3-minute walk from Sloterdijk station! You’ll start with a temporary contract, with the intention for a permanent position. 

Your profile: 

Bring your engineering skills and passion to IBG! Thrive in an international team where creativity and technical expertise are highly valued. 

This is what you bring to the table: 

• HBO level or higher degree in Industrial Product Design, IPO, Industrial Design, or related; 

• 3-5 years’ experience in product engineering (industry/category preferred); 

• Understanding of the cosmetic/beauty industry and trends ;

• Experience with Solidworks, Keyshot;  

• Fluent in English (B2 level); German or French is a plus;  

• Meticulous, analytical, independent, and eager to learn; 

• Strong communicator, meets deadlines, and a real team player; 

• Passion for the Beauty Industry;.
